JOB OVERVIEW:
The Overnight Maintenance Technician is responsible for the daily/routine maintenance of the guestrooms and public spaces. Areas of knowledge and experience would include painting, air conditioning/heating, plumbing, landscaping, and preventative maintenance.
ESSENTIALS JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Provides a variety of general, mechanic, and preventative maintenance duties as well as inspections, servicing, repair, and overhaul of equipment for hotel buildings.
- Works independently, coordinating daily work with the Director of Engineering assigned projects.
- Prioritizes repair requests and plans work to ensure necessary parts are available and tasks are completed quickly and efficiently.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on furniture, floor, fixtures, and exterior, operate efficiently, and ensure the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate and is up to Forbes five-star standards.
- Repair or replace defective parts using hand and power tools, and reassemble equipment when needed.
- Maintain and routinely check appliances, windows, doors, flooring, and walls and repair or fix them.
- Respond immediately to fire alarm systems; disengage electrical, water, or gas systems to protect building occupants and property.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Requires a minimum two years of general building maintenance experience or equivalent technical training. General carpentry and painting would be strongly considered.
- The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- The equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
- Must be able to speak fluently in English.
- Must have excellent hygiene and presentation.
- Standing, bending, stooping, and lifting weights up to and including 50 lbs. may be required.
