The Accounting Coordinator is a full-time, benefited, non-exempt position. Colorado Chautauqua Association (CCA) seeks a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Coordinator to join our finance team. This role is pivotal in supporting our accounting operations and ensuring accurate financial record-keeping. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable and receivable.
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure accurate tracking and recording of expenses and revenues.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
- Respond to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders regarding financial transactions and discrepancies.
- Monitor and analyze accounting data to identify trends and variances.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Assist with audits and other financial projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- Associates degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- 4 years of experience in accounting or finance.
- Proficient in accounting software and applications, QuickBooks a plus.
- Familiarity with hospitality related software and applications, Maestro and Square or similar, a plus.
- Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite; advanced Excel skills.
- Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
