JOB SUMMARY
This position will focus on assisting individuals navigate their professional lives by providing guidance and support to identify goals, develop skills, and find suitable job opportunities. Maintain regular contact with program participants and address any barriers that might hinder employment. Assist with resume writing, interview preparation, job searching, career planning, ultimately achieving participants career goals.
Salary Range: $60,500 - $62,000
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide ongoing guidance to program participants, focusing on assessment of needs, work habits, interpersonal skills and other challenges that may impact workplace success.
- Liaison between program participants and employers. Assist participants resolve any barriers to successful employment and career progression.
- Conduct intake and assessment of clients and their individual needs.
- Work with participants to identify training and career related opportunities, assist in developing short and long-term career goals and plan.
- Provide ongoing job readiness support, including resume writing, completion of online applications, contacting employers, and conducting mock interviews.
- Assist program participants in locating additional community resources to address barriers to employment such as high school diplomas, homelessness, childcare, substance abuse/treatment/counseling, family crisis/domestic violence intervention, healthcare or mental health services, and any other services required.
- Actively match participants to employment opportunities.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Keep up to date with the current job market trends and resources to effectively advise clients.
- Track client progress towards their career goals.
- Conduct group sessions or workshops such as resume writing, interviewing, and networking.
- Expected to work weekends and evenings. In the field, meeting participants where they are.
- Additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in applicable field is required with 1 year of experience working with low-income individuals, with the ability to cultivate existing relationships and establish new ones.
- Or Associate’s degree in applicable field with 3-5 years of experience working with low-income individuals, with the ability to cultivate existing relationships and establish new ones.
Skills and Abilities:
- Exceptional organization skills and attention to details.
- Strong time management skills and ability to work in an extremely fast paced team environment, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to self-start, work under pressure, and respond to short deadlines.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, ability to listen with empathy and care.
- Strong interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strategically imagine, plan, and implement new ideas across a diverse team in multiple locations.
- Team focused mindset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook
- Familiarity with Case Management or Customer Relationship Management Databases.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds
