Reports To : President
Job Purpose :
Responsible for overseeing the planning, organizing, and implementation of the marketing, branding, social media, graphics, advertising and public relations for all The Community House areas : Community Events, Special Programs, Hospitality and Early Childhood Center.
Responsible for vendor and media relations.
Responsible for the project management of Special Business Programs
Essential Functions and Responsibilities :
Creates plans, set budgets, and implements The Community House advertising, social media, marketing and PR outreach strategy in conjunction with internal department clients.
Assists and oversees content creation by the Marketing / Graphics Coordinator.
Works with TCH leadership to establish TCH Branding strategy and ensures all TCH Communications fit within that branding strategy.
Plans, manages, and executes three to four Special Programs per year.
Monitors costs with the goal of meeting marketing and Special Program expense budget.
Assists the President to identify, solicit, and secure corporate and individual sponsors to underwrite the cost of Special Programs in conjunction with budget goals.
Cultivates, nurtures and maintains relationships with internal clients, sponsors, vendors, media, and suppliers.
Works in harmony with Hospitality and Sales team members to plan logistics for Special Programs as it relates to banquet event orders, timelines, floor plans, guest count and other related areas.
Works in coordination with VP of Volunteer Outreach to appropriately staff Special Programs with necessary volunteers.
Works in partnership with third party PR specialist to appropriately market and promote Special Programs.
Works closely with Accounting to monitor payables and receivables as they relate to Marketing expenditures, Special Programs (ex. vendors requiring payment, invoices for sponsorship).
Annually evaluates the return on investment and effectiveness of each Marketing / Advertising outreach expenditure Special Program and makes appropriate recommendations.
Occasionally steps in as a back up to help classes & camps manager.
Other Duties and Responsibilities :
Attends Management Team meetings.
Attends majority of TCH Community Events and Programs
Supports the mission of The Community House Association.
Supervisory Responsibilities :
Supervise part time Marketing and Graphics Coordinator
Education, Job Knowledge and Skills :

College or Associates degree with minimum five years of professional marketing and project management experience.
Demonstrated success in executing large-scale fundraising events and sponsorship solicitation.
Excellent creative skills.
Basic financial background with ability to write and interpret budgets.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; including strong editing skills.
Experience dealing with non-profit organizations.
Desire and ability to meet new people and new situations.
Excellent organization and planning skills.
Self-starter.
Able to work under pressure and meet required deadlines.
Able to keep confidences of President, Vice President, as well as proprietary information.
Strong project management and analytical skills.
Proficient in Canva and / or Photoshop, In Design, Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Ability to learn internal CRM (Donor Perfect) software programs.
Able to define problems and recommend appropriate solutions.
Valid State of Michigan driver’s license.
Employee and Public Contact :
Works closely with all members of The Community House staff.
Works closely with committees of special events and sponsors.
Works closely with volunteers.
Physical Demands :
May need to stand for long periods of time during events / activities.
Work at the computer or talk on the phone for extended periods of time.
Job requires walking, standing, bending, stooping, and occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds.
Working Conditions and Environment :
Normally works Monday through Friday; at times more than eight hours a day.
Able to work flexible hours which includes some evenings and weekends to attend meetings, special events, and other activities.
Travels offsite for meetings and events as needed.
