POSITION SUMMARY

 

The Clinical Services Supervisor (CSS) – Adult Services provides clinical leadership, administrative oversight, programmatic guidance, and direct therapeutic services for a multidisciplinary team, including therapists, advocates, crisis care navigators, interns, and other direct service staff within Adult Services. This role ensures high-quality, trauma-informed care by providing individual counseling services, guiding treatment planning, staff supervision, crisis intervention strategies, and implementing best practices in crisis services.

The CSS collaborates with the Director of Adult Services to ensure the operational and clinical success of their assigned team.

  • For the Adult team: The CSS focuses on clinical oversight for therapy and advocacy services for adult survivors of domestic, sexual assault, and trauma.

The ideal candidate is a trauma-informed, strategic leader with expertise in clinical supervision, advocacy services, crisis response, and client-centered care.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Individual Counseling Services (40-50%):

Ø  Provide trauma-informed individual and/or group counseling services to either adults (Adult Services team) or  youth/adolescents (Youth & Family Services team), depending upon placement.

Ø  Conduct clinical assessments, develop treatment plans, and monitor client progress.

Ø  Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with agency and funding requirements.

Ø  Utilize evidence-based practices, including EMDR, CBT, or other trauma-focused interventions.

Ø  Offer crisis intervention and immediate emotional support for high-risk clients.

 

Leadership, Supervision, & Clinical Oversight (25-30%):

Ø  Provide clinical and administrative supervision for assigned therapists, crisis care navigators, advocates, interns, and other staff.

Ø  Conduct case consultations and multidisciplinary team meetings ensuring evidence-based and trauma-informed interventions.

Ø  Support staff in treatment planning, advocacy strategies, and crisis response.

Ø  Ensure program compliance, documentation accuracy, and ethical service delivery.

Ø  Lead team performance evaluations, goal-setting, and professional development plans.

Ø  Collaborate with the Director of Adult Services to ensure program success.

Ø  Specific Responsibility on Adult team:

  • Oversee clinical services for adult clients, ensuring alignment with best practices for adult trauma treatment.
  • Support the integration of advocacy services with therapy to provide comprehensive care.
  • Provide training on adult-focused trauma treatment models and crisis intervention.

 

Program & Team Leadership (10-15%):              

Ø Ensure compliance with agency policies, ethical guidelines, and professional standards.

Ø Collaborate with leadership to enhance service models and improve client outcomes.

Ø Participate in strategic planning, policy development, and program evaluation.

Ø Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training of therapists, crisis care navigators, advocates, and interns.

Ø Provide leadership in service expansion and crisis response initiatives.

 

Training & Professional Development (5-10%):

Ø  Provide licensure supervision and mentorship for clinical staff.

Ø  Lead internal training initiatives in trauma-informed practices, advocacy strategies, and evidence-based interventions.

Ø  Guide staff in developing specialized competencies, including EMDR, crisis intervention and case management.

Ø  Support the implementation of new treatment and advocacy models to enhance service effectiveness.

 

Crisis Intervention & Risk Management (5%):

Ø  Supervise crisis care navigators and advocates in managing high-risk cases, safety planning, and crisis interventions.

Ø  Serve as an escalation point for complex clinical and advocacy-related concerns.

Ø  Ensure compliance with risk management protocols and agency policies.

 

Multidisciplinary Team & Service Integration (5%):

Ø  Oversee Provide specialized support for adult survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and trauma.

Ø  Align adult counseling and advocacy services with evidence-based best practices. 

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Ø  Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.

Ø  Licensed (LPC-MH, LCSW-PIP, LMFT, or equivalent. Supervisor credential required.

Ø  Minimum of two years of experience working with trauma survivors in a clinical or advocacy setting.

Ø  Experience supervising multidisciplinary teams including therapists, advocates, and crisis response staff preferred.

Ø  Knowledge of trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, case management, and best clinical practices.

Ø  Strong skills in case documentation, team leadership, and service coordination

Ø  Commitment to fostering a welcoming, respectful, and accessible environment where all individuals receive fair and inclusive support in client services.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Ø  Experience supervising clinicians, advocates, and interns.

Ø  Specialized training in EMDR, play therapy, crisis intervention, or trauma-informed advocacy.

Ø  Familiarity with crime victim compensation funding, survivor support services, and community services.

Ø  Strong ability to train and develop staff in trauma-informed approaches.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position operates in a fast-paced professional office and/or clinical environment and requires regular interaction with clients, staff and community partners while maintaining a high standard of confidentiality and professionalism.

·       This role may involve both office-based and direct service work, depending on team placement.

·       This position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.

·       Staff may need to travel locally for outreach, training, and professional development.

·       The work environment requires the ability to manage sensitive situations with discretion and maintain emotional resilience when handling trauma-related cases.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:

·       Regularly required to speak and hear to effectively communicate with clients and colleagues.

·       Frequently required to stand, walk, and use hands to handle or reach for items.

·       Required to have close visual acuity to prepare and analyze data, read materials, and operate a computer.

·       Occasionally required to lift office products or supplies weighing up to twenty pounds.

 

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

This is a full-time, exempt position with a 36 to 40 hour core workweek. Some flexibility in scheduling is available and remote work may be permitted on occasion based on organizational needs and supervisor approval.
