Position Overview
The Compass Center is seeking a Part-Time Crisis Care Navigator to temporarily assist with walk-in crisis services, follow-up calls, and immediate crisis intervention. This position serves as a stop-gap solution to ensure continued high-quality crisis response while the organization determines a long-term staffing structure.
This role is ideal for a professional with experience in crisis intervention, victim advocacy, or mental health services who can step in quickly, provide immediate support to clients in crisis, and assist in ensuring continuity of care.
Key Responsibilities
Crisis Response & Walk-In Services
- Provide in-person crisis intervention and emotional support to individuals seeking walk-in services.
- Assess client needs, provide appropriate resources, and facilitate referrals to ongoing support services.
- Ensure a trauma-informed and survivor-centered approach in all interactions.
Crisis Follow-Up & Coordination
- Conduct follow-up calls with individuals who have accessed crisis services to assess ongoing needs and provide continued support.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions in accordance with agency protocols.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to connect clients with additional services as needed.
Support for Crisis Operations
- Assist in identifying gaps in crisis response processes and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Collaborate with TCC staff to ensure seamless communication and service delivery.
- Participate in team meetings and case consultations as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field preferred (equivalent experience may be considered).
- Experience in crisis intervention, victim advocacy, mental health, or related direct service roles.
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and crisis response best practices.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and provide effective support to individuals in distress.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documentation and client interaction.
Schedule & Compensation
- Flexible scheduling with priority given to peak crisis service times.
- Temporary position with hourly compensation based on experience.
- This role is on-site at The Compass Center and requires availability for in-person crisis support.
Salary : $20
