Position Overview
Are you a hands-on, results driven and collaborative operations leader? Join us at Compost Crew, where you’ll run all operations in the Washington D.C. metro region. Bring your expertise in waste management, logistics or transportation, as well as your ability to motivate and organize the Operations team. You’ll direct and coordinate daily operations of collections and hauling, fleet management, inventory management and facility management. Your vision will support strategic planning and your accountability will maintain the safety record and profitability of the division. This is a hybrid position with 40 - 80% of the time expected to be in the field. Annualized salary range $105K - $159K.

At least 7 years progressive management experience in waste management, logistics, transportation or related field

Responsibilities
-
Manage team of 50 employees, with overall responsibility for a growing team, fleet and multiple locations
-
Oversee efficient operations, meet customer demands and implement on-going process improvements
-
Develop and manage operating budget, financial plans and KPI’s
-
Achieve financial goals

Manage operational investments and assets while optimizing costs
-
Plan, develop, and execute best in class safety practices and training programs
-
Oversee route supervisors, operations coordinator and driver teams to ensure all routes are completed to meet time and quality standards

Supervise fleet manager to maintain a high performing and safe fleet of 40 commercial trucks
-
Supervise warehouse coordinator to maintain sufficient and accurate supplies and inventory levels
-
Oversee operations and site management at processing facilities
-
Manage offices and yards to keep them safe, secure, organized and clean

Assist CEO with strategic planning

Coordinate with sales and marketing team to ensure alignment with company goals, to include input on pricing, service levels and territories

Support customer service team and attend to priority customer service issues

Ensure operational compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
