Responsibilities
- Responsible for overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food preparation, presentation, and hygiene in line with hotel and restaurant guidelines.
- Prepare high-quality dishes according to recipes and presentation standards.
- Supervise and train kitchen staff, promoting teamwork and smooth service coordination.
- Monitor food quality, freshness, and consistency; ensure compliance with safety and hygiene regulations.
- Manage inventory, control stock levels, and minimize waste.
- Assist in purchasing, menu development, and maintaining food and labor cost targets.
- Occasionally engage with guests to enhance dining experience and gather feedback.
- Keep records updated and support financial goals through efficient kitchen operations.
- Follow all safety, hygiene, and appearance standards; complete necessary training and certifications.
- Foster a positive work environment.
- Ensures uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
- Maintains confidentiality of proprietary information.
- Performs other reasonable job duties as requested by his manager.
Qualifications
- Hospitality oriented
- 3 years minimum in a supervisory role as chef in a high volume, multioutlet hotel or restaurant.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Fully bilingual (Spanish & English).
- Ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism and efficiency, especially under pressure and with minimal supervision.
- Physically capable of performing job-related tasks, including standing for extended periods, bending, lifting up to 60 pounds, and other physical movements as required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Flexible availability to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
