Responsibilities
- Responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality pizzas in a fast-paced environment.
- Prepare dough, sauces, toppings, and ingredients for pizza creation.
- Operate pizza ovens, ensuring pizzas are cooked to perfection and delivered to customers on time.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including proper storage and handling of food to adhere to food safety standards.
- Ensure that all pizzas are made according to the restaurant’s recipes, standards for taste, and presentation.
- Clean and maintain kitchen equipment such as ovens, mixers, and pizza prep stations.
- Work with kitchen and wait staff to ensure smooth service and timely delivery of orders.
- Occasionally interact with customers to address special pizza requests or dietary needs.
- Ensures that ingredients are stocked, and that food waste is minimized.
- Set-up station properly and on time for each service period.
- Cook food and prepare top-quality menu items in a timely manner according to recipes/menu.
- Make sure production charts are closely followed and adhered to.
- After service turn off clean preparation areas, such as equipment, work surfaces, and serving areas, to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices.
- Ensure freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality, keeping track of old and new items, and rotating stock.
- Estimate expected food consumption, requisition or purchase supplies, or procure food from storage.
- Consult with supervisory staff to plan menus, taking into consideration factors such as costs and special event needs.
- Keep records and accounts.
- Understands the impact of kitchen operation on the overall property financial goals and objectives.
- Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures, report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the supervisor.
- Complete safety training and certifications.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support the team to reach common goals, listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees.
- Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
- Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.
Qualifications
- Hospitality oriented.
- Prior experience as pizza cook or in a similar role is preferred.
- Technical culinary knowledge.
- Must be able to bend, squat and stretch, stand for 2-3 hours at a time, lift weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Able to handle difficult situations effectively.
- Should work well under pressure, even with minimal supervision.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must possess good communication skills in Spanish and English.
