Specializing in residential, commercial, industrial, and government projects, we take pride in our quality work, integrity, and long-term client relationships.Key Responsibilities : -Financial Management & Reporting : -Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.-Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance.-Manage cash flow, forecasting, and budgeting for financial stability.-Conduct financial analysis to support strategic business decisions.-Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and construction-specific financial requirements.-Construction-Specific Accounting & Job Costing : -Implement and maintain job costing systems to track project profitability.-Collaborate with project managers to review budgets, cost variances, and job performance.-Oversee progress billing, contract accounting, and work-in-progress (WIP) reporting.-Ensure accurate tracking of retainage, lien waivers, and subcontractor payments.-Internal Controls & Compliance : -Develop and enforce internal controls to protect company assets.-Oversee audits and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.-Maintain strong documentation and record-keeping practices.-Team Leadership & Process Improvement : -Supervise and mentor the accounting team, fostering professional growth.-Streamline accounting processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.-Work closely with senior leadership on financial planning and risk management strategies.Qualifications & Skills : -Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred).-5 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in the construction industry.-Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles, job costing, and WIP reporting.-Experience with Vista / Viewpoint accounting software.-Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools.-Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.-Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.Preferred Qualifications : -Experience working with general contractors, subcontractors, or construction management firms.-Knowledge of tax implications and financial regulations in construction.-Familiarity with contract terms, change orders, and revenue recognition standards.Why Join Baker Companies?We believe in fostering a family-oriented culture where employees are valued and empowered to grow.
