Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Lead Estimator and Principals in the full estimating process, from pre-bid meetings to final cost analysis.
- Review specifications, drawings, and amendments to determine the full project scope.
- Identify and assess project risks and potential impacts.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and evaluate GC requirements, site logistics, scheduling, and scopes of work.
- Generate and manage takeoffs and estimates for all disciplines Forsythe performs, including:
- Minor civil and site work
- Structural concrete restoration/repair
- New and existing masonry
- Building skin and waterproofing systems (subgrade waterproofing through roofing)
- Glazing, panel systems, and finishes
- Develop full quantity take-offs to create accurate cost estimates.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate cost assessments, competitive bidding, and project planning.
- Previous experience in estimating within commercial construction, masonry, waterproofing, or building envelope projects is strongly preferred.
- Strong ability to read and interpret construction specifications, drawings, and amendments.
- Excellent skills in cost analysis, risk assessment, and takeoff generation.
- Ability to evaluate and incorporate general contractor requirements, site logistics, and scheduling considerations.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Experience with construction estimating software is a plus.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with team members and clients.
