Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
- Communication: Establish and nurture strong relationships with clients, architects, and other stakeholders
- Quantity Takeoff: Perform highly detailed and accurate digital takeoffs for preconstruction estimates, as well throughout the lifecycle of active projects
- Cost Estimation: Create comprehensive, detailed and accurate estimates from concept to construction documents
- Value Engineering: Collaborate with project teams to explore value engineering opportunities and optimize project costs while maintaining quality standards.
- Construction Scheduling: Develop detailed, digital critical path project schedules in conjunction with the estimating process
- Bidding & Contract Processes: Analyze project documents, specifications, and architectural drawings to identify project requirements and manage competitive bid processes. Audit proposals and properly execute contracts
- Project Management: Support project managers in budget management and scheduling efforts
- Proven track record as lead estimator in custom residential construction. Minimum of five year's experience
- Extensive custom residential project management experience
- Proficiency in interpreting construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications
- Possess advanced expertise with on-screen digital estimating programs, and be capable of quickly completing detailed and accurate takeoff
- Possess advanced skills in the development and application of Excel spreadsheets and workbooks, as well as a complete grasp of formatting functions, formula development, graphing, etc.
- In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes
- Advanced understanding of all trades, from foundation to finish
- Dynamic, collaborative personality to work closely with project managers to run masterful projects
- Five years of field experience preferred prior to estimating roles
- Bachelor's degree in construction management is welcomed
