Aerial Ground Hand

Essential Functions Performs various aerial construction labor including but not limited to, preparing, and assembling various line apparatus, utilizing equipment to install ground rods and anchors, assisting in hoisting aerial poles, and operating various types of construction equipment  Ability to climb utility poles at various heights  Basic print and map reading abilities  Ability to operate hydraulic aerial lifts and ladders mounted to trucks as well as other various pieces of equipment as needed  Safely operate mechanical equipment such as bucket trucks, assist wheel, and anchor placement machine  Keeps work areas clean and organized; always ensure job site cleanliness  Maintains proper inventory on vehicle based on work assignments daily  JSA’s and pre-trip inspections, ability to recognize changing conditions as it relates to JSA  Help train laborer 1 team members     Minimum Qualifications Safely use hand tools and equipment such as wrenches, drills, ladders, lashers, chain saw, chain hoist, climbing hooks etc. Ensures job site safety and sets up safe perimeter using signage, cones, safety barriers; flagging traffic when required     Knowledge, Skills and Abilities CDL A  OSHA 10  Confined Space Training  Vehicle Mounted Aerial Lift Training  Fall protection certification/training  Perform other related duties as assigned      Physical Demands  Spends more than 2/3 of time standing, kneeling/crouching/stooping, using hands and reaching. Spends approximately 1/3 of time walking and talking/hearing. Frequent lifting required of items 25-50 pounds, and occasional lifting over 50 pounds. Work Environment   Conditions will include proximity to forklifts or other heavy machinery and using various tools and hardware. Subject to frequent heavy lifting. May require driving to project sites. May be exposed to variable weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures.
