Recon Craft is seeking a Senior SolidWorks Designe r to utilize modeling software tools to complete 3-D product design models and detail designs for manned and unmanned boats. You will be a part of a product development team developing 3-D system designs, foundation designs, cabling and routings, bill of materials, part numbering, product data management (PDM), production detailing, CNC cut plate files, drafting, and fixture design. Experience with SolidWorks, SolidWorks PDM, and AutoCad software is required.
Responsibiles :
- Exceptional working knowledge of SolidWorks, SolidWorks PDM, and AutoCAD
- Collaborate on product development teams sharing design and modeling approaches to meet multiple program requirements simultaneously.
- Support program, engineering and production personnel with designs that are easy to build, consistent with the company's design DNA, and customer specifications while ensuring contract requirements are met.
- Work regularly with engineering and production personnel to leverage their skills and experiences to optimize designs for efficiency. Includes spending time to identify manufacturability challenges or how to otherwise improve quality, efficiency, and profitability.
- Work with partners and suppliers to integrate their components and designs into our design models.
- Ability to take existing designs, make redline changes, and create revised drawings and solid models.
- Ability to generate draft designs from rough concepts and based on interactions with boat users, maintainers, and our own fabrication and production teams.
- Creation and development of fixture and jig designs, including development of shop fabrication and machining drawings and bill of materials.
- Working knowledge of design standards, industry best practices, and related technical design resources to develop viable boat and system designs.
- A desire to be part of a high-performing team to design and build boats and other products that are changing and improving the industry.
