Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Plant Human Resources Manager to lead HR functions at our 300-person unionized continuous process manufacturing facility in Kansas City, KS. This role focuses on employee relations, training, compliance, recruitment, organizational development, and benefits administration. The HR Manager will work closely with plant leadership to drive process efficiency, employee engagement, and best practices implementation while ensuring alignment with corporate strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Employee/Labor Relations:
- Ensure compliance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) and company policies.
- Foster a positive work environment through strong relationships with employees and union representatives.
- Address workplace concerns, manage investigations, and resolve issues as necessary.
Training Development:
- Educate plant leadership on company policies, guidelines, and HR best practices.
- Promote employee engagement through training, coaching, and communication strategies.
- Support leadership in performance management and team development.
Recruitment Onboarding:
- Collaborate with plant leadership to forecast and plan staffing needs.
- Oversee recruiting activities, including candidate vetting, interview coordination, and new employee onboarding.
Compliance Safety:
- Ensure adherence to company, federal, state, and local labor laws and policies.
- Partner with the EHS Manager to support safety initiatives and maintain a strong safety culture.
- Act as the site representative for employee legal issues.
Compensation Benefits Administration:
- Work with corporate HR to implement and communicate benefits changes.
- Oversee the wage and salary review process, including conducting wage surveys and ensuring pay equity.
- Maintain and update job descriptions to ensure accurate job banding and salary alignment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field.
- 7 years of HR management experience within a manufacturing environment.
- 5 years of experience in a unionized setting with labor relations expertise.
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification is required.
- Strong collaboration, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
