The Cottages at Garden Grove is looking for motivated Skilled Maintenance Worker to join a great team in our person centered home environment. The Cottages at Garden Grove is set on a lovely campus in Cicero, NY and is made up of 12 small-home residences. This model of small-homes sets a new standard for skilled nursing and short-term rehab in CNY. These homes come complete with a sense of neighborhood and welcoming atmosphere that will make everyone who resides and works here feel at home.
We are currently accepting applications for Full Time 1st Shift.
Qualifications/Duites
· Possess a basic knowledge of various trade fundamentals; including a working knowledge in HVAC, electrical circuitry, plumbing, carpentry, boiler and chiller systems, etc.
· Knowledge and experience in use of tools related to trade.
· Maintain checklists, records, logs and other documents that are assigned.
· Keep work area free of hazardous objects.
· Assure that all tools, equipment and supplies are stored and locked in appropriate area.
· Assure that all chemicals are labeled.
· Knowledge of (M)SDS location.
· Complete and submit work orders in a timely manner.
· Completes home and shift-specific duties per schedule; assignment sheets and/or check lists. Assure that the home is maintained in a clean, safe and orderly manner for elders’ and staffs’ comfort and convenience
· Use any or all of the following: mops, buckets, utility cart, cleaning solutions, wet/dry vacuum, carpet shampooer, short ladder, tall ladder, power tools, hand tools, shovel, broom, and any other equipment used in the ordinary pursuit of objectives.
· Stock housekeeping and other supplies
· Assist in checking Wander Guard system as scheduled
· Take and record Water Temperatures as assigned on a daily basis
· Complete outdoor rounds as scheduled. Assure that the grounds are free of debris, clutter, etc.
· Insure that all entrances are free from snow as needed. Apply salt to sidewalks and entrance ways as needed.
