Position Title: Health Information Specialist II

JOB SUMMARY
The Health Information Support Specialist II provides a variety of administrative support to the Health Information Department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Essential functions are duties which are primary to the position. An individual must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. The essential functions of this position are:
- Review and process all Record Requests and provide the correlating documentation within the HER
- Provides coverage for HI Office Managers as applicable.
- Manage and work all NextGen auditing and billing reports as requested
- Works directly with the clinical teams to ensure that NextGen reporting errors are corrected and submitted within the required time frame.
- Maintains all HI supplies by working with Facilities
- Orders laptops and other equipment by working with third party vendors
- Manages IT inventory and tracking spreadsheet
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS
Secondary functions are duties, which are not exclusive of the position and can be performed by other positions; however, secondary duties are to be performed for the efficiency of The Counseling Center, Inc.
- Provides Urine Drug Testing as requested by the HI Coordinator
- Bills out Urine Drug Tests within the HER as requested by the HI Coordinator
- Scans and files all clinically relevant documentation into the EHR
- Picks up positive urine samples from all sites and processes for lab pick up
- Provides backup support for the Health Information Department as requested
- Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, INCLUDING TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in an office setting of a least one (1) year preferred and/or formal secretarial training including computer experience
- Knowledge about the disease of alcohol addiction preferred
