The Country Club of Virginia is seeking a dedicated Head of Recreation to oversee and elevate the aquatic experience for our members and guests during the summer season. This leadership role ensures the daily operations of the Aquatics Facility runs smoothly, efficiently, and safely while fostering an engaging and welcoming atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
Swimmer Experience & Member Engagement
- Ensure a positive, high-quality experience for all members and guests at the Aquatics Facility
- Develop engaging aquatic programming and member events that create personal connections and enhance the Club experience
Leadership & Staff Management
- Hire, train, and schedule Pool Deck Attendants and Gate Attendants, ensuring a well-prepared and professional team
- Lead and support staff to maintain a culture of safety, service, and excellence
Facility & Operations Oversight
- Supervise and participate in daily operations, ensuring consistency and efficiency
- Maintain the facility, ensuring cleanliness, functionality, and compliance with all health and safety regulations
- Oversee and implement protocols for inclement weather and emergency procedures
Safety & Rule Enforcement
- Ensure the health and safety of all members, guests, and staff at all times
- Enforce facility rules, provide first aid when necessary, and respond to emergencies promptly
Event Planning & Execution
- Organize and oversee member events that align with the Club’s standards and enhance community engagement
Ideal Candidate:
- A proactive leader with strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Experienced in aquatics, recreation management, or a related field
- Certified (or willing to become certified) in CPR, First Aid, and other relevant safety training
- Passionate about creating a positive and engaging atmosphere for members and staff alike
