The Country Club of Virginia is seeking a Head Racquets Professional who is looking for a rare opportunity to join a high-performing team at a platinum-level country club.
The Position
The Head Racquets Professional reports to the Assistant Director of Racquet Sports and supervises at least two Assistant Professionals. This position will have leadership responsibility in all aspects of the tennis operation, including a large and thriving junior program, ladies' team practices, lessons and clinics for all ages and playing levels; adult and junior leagues; tennis events, socials, and tournaments.
Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and implement racquets programs, tournaments, and events
- Provide engaging private and group lessons across skill levels, with a focus on enjoyment, development, and member retention
- Collaborate with the Director and Assistant Director of Racquets to design creative programming and enhance member experience
- Serve as a role model and mentor to members and staff, fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment
- Ensure the highest level of customer service, addressing member concerns professionally and efficiently
- Maintain an organized and efficient schedule, balancing teaching, program development, and member interaction
- Uphold the values of our club through strong communication and a passion for racquets sports
Qualifications
- High-energy, outgoing personality with a palpable passion for tennis and racquets sports
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management abilities
- Creativity and adaptability in program development
- A collaborative team player who thrives in a supportive, fast-paced environment
- Previous experience as a tennis/racquets professional is required
- Relevant certifications (e.g., USPTA or PTR)
