General Job Description:
At The Covenant School, we want to develop students who are efficient problem solvers, fluent with mathematical processes, and appreciate God’s beauty and design of mathematics. We want teachers who can not only teach math procedures to our upper school math students, but can also draw students into mathematical discourse, encourage curious thinking, and deepen understanding.
Required qualifications:
- College degree
- Availability on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays (days on campus)
Preferred qualifications:
- Previous math teaching experience at the middle school or high school level
- Math degree
Major duties and responsibilities:
- Teach math classes that each meet 3 days per week
- Plan lessons
- Grade student work and enter grades in online system
- Communicate with parents as needed
- Attend training days prior to the start of the school year
- Attend monthly staff meetings and periodic staff development
