Job Title: Development Coordinator
FLSA Status: Exempt

Reports to: Director of Development
Days of Work: Monday-Friday, 9-5, some nights and weekends
Start Date: March 2025
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: Working closely with the Director of Development, the Development Coordinator helps share The Covering House (TCH) mission with donors so they will see, understand, and feel the impact they are making through their financial support. This is primarily done through timely, professional, and heart-felt communication including to thank, cultivate, and steward donor relationships (individuals, corporations, faith-based groups, foundations). Additionally, the Development Coordinator will work on various administrative and marketing tasks including managing the donor database, tax credit programs, and assisting with social media.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: The Development Coordinator will be responsible for, including, but not limited to:
Donor Development
- Monthly and small to mid-size donors
- Nurture donor relationships including through phone calls, face-to-face meetings, emails, and in-person events
- Ensure donors are acknowledged in a timely manner through calls and letters
- Assist DOD
- Annual fundraising strategy
- Annual appeal
- Annual Report
- Analyze donor data to inform strategy development and goal achievement
Development Administrative
- Engage in Development Department meetings in addition to scheduled meetings related to donor development and data measurement.
- Manage donor database, including entering donor and donation data into Funraise (database).
- Manage Tax Credit Programs, ensuring donor tax credit applications are completed and submitted to the Department of Social Services with appropriate paperwork.
Social Media
a) Assist with social media
b) Instagram, Facebook, YouTube
Events and Public Speaking
c) Assist with the annual spring gala: Dine for Dignity
d) Assist with small group events: cocktail parties, luncheons, third-party events etc.
e) Provide organization and program presentations in the community
f) Including Trafficking 101 presentation and overview of TCH

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Donor Relations and Stewardship: people-oriented, excellent written and verbal communication, personal and heartfelt communication with donors to build relationships and share the impact of their partnership.
- Detail-oriented and organizational skills: ability to manage donor database (Funraise) and reporting.

- Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, or related field preferred.
- Preferably 1 years of experience in donor development.
- Technology proficiency in Office Tools.
- May not have a substantiated report of child abuse or neglect.
- Assist with staff shortages as needed in the residential home.
- Must remain current on all required training.
- Attend staff trainings on topics including trauma-informed care and suicide prevention.

- Work Environment: Duties of this job are performed at the office of The Covering House. However, employee may be asked to assist at the residential home as needed.
