Growing, family-owned insurance agency in Asheboro is seeking a licensed commercial insurance account manager to service an existing commercial lines book of business.
Centrally located in North Carolina, the Cranford Agency is an independent insurance agency that has been in business since 1993 and represents over 20 insurance companies. We write insurance in 7 states in the Southeastern United States with an emphasis in commercial lines policies.
The licensed agent would work as a commercial insurance account manager servicing a book of business of around $2 million in premium. Pay depends on prior experience, knowledge and how much training you would require in commercial lines. The ideal candidate should have experience in commercial lines and/or personal lines, but be willing to learn commercial lines.
EDUCATION/LICENSING REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or GED
- North Carolina Property & Casualty Insurance License (active)
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Applicant must have at least (2) years prior experience in the property & casualty insurance field which includes writing and/or servicing personal and/or commercial lines accounts.
JOB DUTIES/INFORMATION (include the following but are not limited to)
- Work day is from 8:30am-5:00pm.
- (1) hour lunch break provided daily.
- This is a salaried "in-person" position (Not remote).
- Book of business would be commercial accounts. More commercial accounts would be included as you were trained. Occasionally, applicant would be required to write personal lines accounts.
- Waiting on customers by taking payments in person and over the phone.
- Make endorsements/policy changes for insureds.
- Meet customers in person and/or discuss on the phone to provide quotes, review policies, answer questions and make policy changes as needed.
- Answer questions about potential claims and report claims directly to insurance carriers.
- Track all customers assigned to agent in our agency management system. (Renewals, quotes, cancellations, etc).
- Assist producers with quotes for new business.
- This position is not a producer or commission based , but agent would quote some new business from call-ins, customer referrals and producer leads.
- Ideal candidate should possess a great attention to detail and ability to multi-task while meeting deadlines for offering renewal policies to insureds.
- Applicant should be proficient in computers, agency management system(s) and be a quick learner.
- Favorable credit and criminal background check required.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
