The Crate Escape is a trusted and loving dog daycare and boarding facility dedicated to providing the highest quality care for dogs in our community. We offer a safe, stimulating, and comfortable environment for dogs to play, relax, and receive attentive care. We pride ourselves on our commitment to animal welfare, excellent customer service, and a happy, productive work culture. This includes managing day-to-day operations, overseeing dog care, ensuring the smooth running of front desk and booking systems, supervising a team of staff, and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for both dogs and clients. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a love for animals, and possess organization and problem-solving abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Facility Operations Management:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the daycare and boarding facility, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning.
  • Monitor dog care activities, ensuring dogs are well-supervised, safe, and engaged.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for both dogs and staff, adhering to health and safety protocols.

2. Front Desk & Client Relations:

  • Oversight of front desk operations, including greeting clients, answering inquiries, and addressing concerns.

  • Implement employee schedules, ensuring shifts are covered and staff are properly trained for their roles.
  • Foster a positive work environment where employees feel supported, valued, and motivated to perform their best.
  • Ensure staff compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.

4. Dog Care & Supervision:

  • Oversee daily dog care routines, including feeding, exercise, playtime, and rest.
  • Address any special needs or requests for individual dogs (e.g., medication administration, special care instructions).
  • Ensure dogs are placed in appropriate playgroups based on temperament and size.
  • Monitor dog behavior, intervene as necessary to maintain safety, and communicate concerns to clients when needed.

5. Facility Maintenance & Supplies:

  • Ensure the facility is well-maintained and that all areas are clean, sanitary, and organized.
  • Monitor inventory and order supplies as needed (e.g., cleaning products, food, dog toys, etc.).
  • Oversee facility repairs and maintenance, coordinating with the maintenance team

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Dog care management experience is NOT NECESSARY. We are looking for an experienced manager regardless of the field. Everything can be taught to the right person, this is a case of aptitude being far more important than experience. If you are a strong leader and manager of systems/people, we want to talk to you.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of dog behavior, safety protocols, and daycare operations. Knowledge of pet care products, services, and industry standards. This can be taught, but a love and passion for dogs is paramount.
  • Skills:

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Proficient with booking systems, Google suite, and other relevant tools.
  • Ability to handle difficult situations with professionalism and grace.
