Job Summary:

Provides leadership, vision, direction and management of multiple disciplines with more than 20 individuals. Provides day-to-day strategic and operational leadership to multiple functions and areas of oversight, including:

  • Finance – Corporate Finance, FP&A, Expense Management, Financial Planning & Strategy, Compensation Analytics, Data Management & Visualization, Finance Rationalization, Scorecard/Initiative Tracking & Communication
  • Controllership - Accounting, Internal Controls, Policy Management, Trust Liquidity, Cash Flow & Funding Analytics
  • Treasury - Money Movement, Account Administration, Dispersement Management
  • Risk Management – Business Continuity Planning, Safety, Vendor Engagement
  • Aviation Services – Contract Administration, Financial Controls
  • Operating Company Services Oversight – Fee Management, Services Oversight
  • Trust Execution - South Dakota and Wyoming Trusts, Board Oversight
  • Operations Analysis & Change Management – Service Catalog, Operational Re-engineering
  • Business Process & Transformation – Organization Strategy, Process Rationalization
  • Facilities – Office Management, Space Planning
  • Communications – Engagement Survey, Town Halls, All Hand Event, Organization & Family Newletters, Culture and Change Champion
  • Compliance – Corporate Compliance, Trade & Investment Oversight
  • Operational Support – Investment Initiative Planning

This role manages all Operating Committee updates and decision management. The role represents the organization and Family across several Board Memberships.

Ensures that the business develops, and implements effective controls and processes to protect the clients’ assets and provide excellent service while addressing changes driven by market, regulatory requirements, process improvement or systems events. Participates in fiduciary oversight of various family trust companies, entities, and partnerships.

POSITION DUTIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Strategy: Working with the Managing Director and other executives to develop and implement business strategies; this includes long-term planning, identifying growth opportunities, and ensuring the organization is scalable to meet future requirements

  • Provide insight and recommendations to both short term and long term growth plan of organization to support family dynamic changes, technology advancements and other foundation drivers impacting the business, employees and growth
  • Prepare decision making materials for the Board on a broad range of strategic, risk, regulatory or operations related topics - includes analyzing and formulating concepts, drafting and preparing reports and proposals as well as presentations to management
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and business partners to understand their business focus and achieve results
  • Establish and communicate the vision for organizational excellence; create a structure and environment that initiates positive change and a drive toward high standards for performance and organizational values
  • Sponsor and drive Finance and Organizational transformation; promoting an environment of intellectual creativity, responsive client service, strategic planning and innovative approaches to operational challenges
  • Support the Leadership Team across organizations to determine a roadmap for the future, addressing future generational needs, requirements and strategy supporting legacy wealth, organization alignment, best in class services and stewardship

Operations & Controls: Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the company, ensuring that all departments are working efficiently and effectively; this includes managing resources, production, and logistics

  • Accountable for all aspects of quality, efficiency, and cost effectiveness of the family corporate entities
  • Act as Chief Financial Officer and strategic business partner to senior executive leadership team, across organizations
  • Assess and evaluate financial performance of organization with regard to long term operational goals, budgets and forecasts
  • Identify, acquire and implement systems and software to provide critical financial and operational information; evaluate departments and make suggestion for automating processes and increasing working efficiency
  • Manage outside vendor and business partner relationships ensuring the quality and timeliness of offerings and services
  • Stay abreast of changes in the areas of regulations, accounting, industry trends, and technology
  • Develop and implement plans for the minimization of risk resulting from proactive and focused risk program, process redesign and systems implementations
  • Manage the organizations communication strategy
  • Partner with Technology and Human Resources

Leadership: Providing leadership and direction to the executive team and employees; this involves setting goals, fostering a positive company culture, and ensuring that the team is motivated and aligned with organizational values

  • Communicate and model behavior endorsing the mission, goals and values of The Crosby Company
  • Manage, coach and develop a team of experienced managers in multiple disciplines
  • Provide technical, fiduciary and organizational leadership
  • Develop and utilize a network of industry contacts to determine and/or implement best practices
  • Determine family and organization current needs and mentor employees to succeed in their roles and future roles and needs change

Qualifications:

  • High energy and the enthusiasm to lead a client-service organization with multi-disciplinary functions and strong inter-dependencies.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 20 years financial service industry experience with 15 years of progressive management experience including leadership of major organizational re-design efforts and system implementations
  • Technical experience in system implementation, reconciliation, data governance and process re-engineering
  • In depth understanding of financial statements, recordkeeping, valuation and performance reporting of marketable securities and private asset
  • Excellent collaboration, presentation and influence skills
  • Proven leadership and management abilities with the ability to initiate and manage change
  • MBA and/or CPA preferred
  • Family Office experience preferred
