Duties and Responsibilities
- Support and maintain budgeting and forecasting processes; develop proficiency in systems.
- Responsible for system inputs and leveraging systems to provide data-driven insights.
- Collaborate closely with commercial and scheduling teams in developing and reviewing customer pricing, from setting freight rates to voyage performance and profitability analysis to support commercial strategy.
- Support operations team in development, review, and presentation of operational budgets, variance analysis, forecasts, and spend management and optimization initiatives.
- Perform variance analysis and report on key metrics through regular reporting cycles, address follow-up questions/provide explanations.
- Maintain profitability analysis modelling (ROIC, EVA, etc.).
- Support development of presentations to management and other stakeholders, including managerial/pro-forma reporting.
- Assist with strategic planning process and scenario development.
- Work with and support Corporate resources on regional information requests.
- Conduct ad-hoc analysis and prepare recommendations to support decision-making.
- Support investment/business case development, financial modeling, valuation, and sensitivity analysis.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or similar.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in analytical functions.
- Excel power user.
- Oracle, Cognos, Smartsheet, and PowerBI experience an asset.
- CPA/CFA a plus.
