Aviano Coffee is seeking a part time/full time Barista or Barista lead (based on experience)

Weekend availability is a must and one year of 3rd wave barista experience is preferred.
Expected compensation: $17-$21hr (hourly, tips)

PURPOSE
The Barista Lead is responsible for preparing and serving beverages such as coffee, tea, and other specialty beverages while understanding and working with all appropriate tools & equipment. This role provides an exceptional coffee experience to all customers and is committed to operational excellence. The Barista Lead will also assist management with training new hires and current team members.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet customers and provide excellent services to address their needs in a timely fashion.
- Prepare and serve hot or cold beverages, such as coffee, espresso drinks, blended coffees, or teas in accordance with the recipe and company standards.
- Assist management in training new hires and current team members.
- Maintain a clean and sanitized work area, seating areas, and equipment/tools by following all health, safety and sanitation guidelines and standards.
- Serve as coffee expert providing exceptional knowledge of beverage and food menu items.
- Describe menu items to customers or suggest products that might appeal to them.
- Provide customers with product details, such as coffee blend or preparation descriptions.
- Responsible for total service, including table service.
- Serve prepared food.
- Receive or stock supplies and/or products.
- Ensure checklists and corresponding side work are delegated fairly and completed.
- Maintain and operate all brewing equipment notifying any maintenance needs to management.
- Handles busy service independently and professionally.
- Maintain stock of clean mugs and plates and wash when necessary.
- Assists with cleaning and sanitizing FOH & BOH employee work areas, customer seating areas, patio area, and restrooms.
- Handle customer issues and escalate to management when necessary.
- Perform refunds as related to customer satisfaction and recovery.
- Communicate customer feedback to management.
- Receive and process payments (cash or credit cards) when necessary.
- Contributes to a positive team environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Hands-on experience with brewing equipment.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and time management skills.
- Strong ability to multi-task and problem solve quickly.
- Ability to follow instructions and procedures.
- Ability to operate in an environment with rapid innovation with minimal turnaround time from innovation to product and service delivery to the customer.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma or a GED.
- 3 years of barista experience.
- Available to work flexible hours, which could include early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must successfully pass CCG’s Barista Certification Practical Exam.
