Position Overview:
The Custer Beacon, known for its lively atmosphere, live music events, and quality dining experience, is seeking a part-time Bartender. Our establishment, a casual American counter-service bar/restaurant, is open for dinners from Wednesday to Saturday and lunch on Friday and Saturday in the summer. This role is ideal for individuals looking to work in a vibrant setting, particularly during the high-earning summer tourism months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve a variety of beers and wines to guests in a prompt and friendly manner.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of all beverages on offer, including ingredients, preparation methods, and presentation.
- Ensure the bar area is clean and well-stocked at all times.
- Engage with customers, providing excellent service and a welcoming atmosphere.
- Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Monitor customer alcohol consumption, ensuring responsible service of alcohol.
- Adhere to all food safety and quality regulations.
- Manage bar inventory and restock supplies as needed.
- Work closely with other staff to ensure a smooth and efficient service.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Bartender or in a similar role required.
- Excellent customer service skills and a friendly, outgoing personality.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to work evenings, specifically Wednesday to Saturday.
- Knowledge of responsible alcohol service and relevant certifications (e.g., TIPS certification) is required and certifications will be paid for by the company.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects when necessary.
