What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pool Attendant position at The Dalmar?
Wurzak Hotel Group is looking for a dynamic and hospitality-oriented Pool Attendant to provide an excellent guest experience at their trendy poolside bar Sip&Dip within The Dalmar Hotel in downtown Fort Lauderdale, FL.
The ideal candidate is friendly, optimistic, detail-oriented, has an outgoing personality, enjoys working with people and working on a team; has a proven passion and ability to anticipate and exceed our guests' needs; has knowledge of food and beverage operations; can comprehend and deliver service standards; excels at guest and team member relations and etiquette; and comprehends to importance of complying with applicable federal, state, and local health and safety regulations.
Position Summary - Opening:
- Open umbrellas and raises/sets up pool lounge chairs
- Wipe glass and side tables if they are wet
- Open cabana curtains, straighten cushions
- Brush debris off cushions and straighten all around the 6th floor pool deck and terrace areas
- Spot sweep all around the 6th floor deck
- Take any dirty towels down to housekeeping to drop off, and pick up bin of clean towels
- Wipe down host and towel stand
- Replenish water in fitness center
- Set up water station on towel stand: ice water
- Fold and roll towels, add to towel stand and create towel pyramid display
- Straighten up cushions and furniture in the Lobby Bar
Throughout the Day:
- Greet guests as they enter the pool area
- Ask everyone that wants to go out to the pool if they are staying with us
- Walk the pool deck and straighten chairs and towels, remove used towels and trash, adjust any shifted furniture
- Wipe down sun tap chargers and side tables
- If a guest wants to swim, confirm their room number on the rooming list
- Monitor outside food: no outside food allowed, no outside alcohol allowed, no coolers or bags of food and drink allowed, no glass allowed on the pool deck
- Check on fitness center water, replenish and straighten as needed
- Check on beverage station, replenish water and cups as needed, wipe up any puddles
- At 4:30pm collect all used towels from around the pool and take the towel bin down to housekeeping
Closing:
- Pick up any leftover towels from around the pool deck and lobby terrace, take to housekeeping
- Return the three tv remotes from each cabana to the lobby bar host stand
- Close umbrellas and put lounge chair backs down
- Remove all parts of the beverage dispenser, dump contents, clean and store
- Store cups from beverage station
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED
- One or more years of related guest-centric experience
- Familiarity with hospitality industry practices preferred
