Salary Range: $78,000 - $170,000. The position on the scale will be based on years of teaching experience and education.

We are seeking a Health Educator to teach students in 5th – 12th grades starting in September 2025. This position would teach in our current health program and work with the team to build out additional curriculum. They will also be an integral part of Dalton’s K-12 Health and Wellness Department which has the mission to support and nurture each student’s social, emotional, and intellectual life, enabling them to thrive within the Dalton community.
The Health Educator will teach health classes and provide support for students outside of the classroom. We seek a candidate with experience and interest in working with a broad range of students through engaging, inquiry-based lessons and the Dalton Plan. Additionally, experience developing researched-based Health curriculum is central to this role.
Responsibilities:
- Teach multiple sections of Health in 5th – 12th grades
- Collaborate with the Health and Wellness team to review lessons, develop curriculum and think innovatively about Health programming.
- Stay current on health education and best practices
- Create interdisciplinary connections between the health curriculum and assignments in other disciplines
- Potentially be a House Advisor for the Middle School
- Collect data to analyze needs and evaluate our current health program
- Additional responsibilities, as needed
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Public Health or related field
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience working with this age group in a school or similar setting, developing health curriculum.
- Enjoys working with children, collaborating with colleagues and being involved in other aspects of school life
- Excellent interpersonal skills and strong commitment to collaborate in support of students and the curriculum
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Is a reflective practitioner with a willingness to grow professionally
- Ability to manage, take initiative, and follow through
