Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000. Placement in the range is commensurate with experience.

We are currently seeking a full-time licensed counselor/psychologist to strengthen the mental health and well-being of our high school students, grades 9-12, through partnership with colleagues, parents, and outside professionals. This position reports to the Director of Health & Wellness and works in collaboration with the high school administrative team and faculty. Experience working with this age group is required.
Responsibilities:
- Provide student support services (social, behavioral, emotional) and strategies of prevention and intervention to assist students in developing effective coping skills and responses to their environment
- Address immediate counseling and psychological needs of students. Provide leadership and guidance in crisis situations
- Actively participate in the school community, conduct therapy labs with students to help break down barriers of mental health stigma and introduce available counseling services and resources
- Ability to coordinate care plans for students and communicate with parents, outside providers, and school personnel
- Collaborate with the Learning Support team regarding student accommodations and neuropsych evaluations
- Implement counseling groups to help students reflect, set goals and develop action plans
- Advise parents and teachers of approaches to child development, student learning, and behavioral and social challenges
- With the Health & Wellness team, attend student support meetings, work closely with House Advisors and participate in parent workshops
- Use quantitative and qualitative data to enhance work which supports student social, emotional and academic goals
- Evaluate and implement SEL programs to address identified student wellness goals
- Foster multicultural competency and an inclusive learning and work environment utilizing best clinical and teaching practices
Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree preferred, Master’s level considered with demonstrated experience
- New York State license or other appropriate certification
- Experience working in a school environment with demonstrated interaction, collaboration, psychotherapeutic intervention, and problem-solving abilities with children, adolescents and adults
- Discretion and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality
- Knowledgeable about legal considerations in K-12 counseling programs
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills
- Collaborates with flexibility, optimism, energy and a sense of humor
- Understands social and emotional development of children and adolescents, as well as familiarity with rigorous school curriculum and culture
