SPECIALTY BANKING ASSOCIATE I
JOB SUMMARY
Entry level Specialty Banking Associate is responsible for providing support and assistance in the banking services provided to cannabis related businesses. This role is crucial in ensuring compliance with internal policies and applicable regulations, conducting due diligence, and facilitating smooth financial transactions for cannabis clients. As an entry-level position, this role offers an opportunity for professional growth and development within the cannabis banking industry.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Transaction Processing: Process virtual financial transactions for cannabis clients, including deposits, withdrawals, wire transfers, and other banking services. Ensure accuracy and adherence to established procedures.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions, transactions, and compliance documentation. Ensure that all records are organized and accessible for auditing purposes.
- Due Diligence: Support the due diligence process by gathering and verifying information about existing cannabis related clients. Identify and report any red flags or potential compliance issues.
- Risk Management: Assist in identifying potential risks associated with providing financial services to cannabis related businesses. Report any unusual or suspicious activities to management.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to cannabis clients, addressing their inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally. Foster positive relationships to ensure internal and external client satisfaction and retention.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other team members, including compliance officers, treasury management officers, and operations staff to ensure a cohesive and effective approach to cannabis banking. Acts as a back up to other Specialty Banking team members as appropriate.
- Training and Development: Participate in training sessions to enhance knowledge of cannabis banking regulations, internal compliance practices, and industry trends. Stay informed about changes in laws and regulations affecting cannabis related businesses.
- Team Player: A Community Banker is a team player. You may be asked to train, mentor, and take on additional duties.
- Bank Compliance: Adheres to all Federal and State laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act.
- Other duties as assigned.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- Education: College degree or experience equivalent preferred. Previous experience in cannabis banking is a plus but not mandatory.
- Skills: Knowledge of basic banking operations and financial services. Familiarity with cannabis laws and regulations. Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism. Proactive and willing to learn with a positive attitude. Proficiency in using standard computer software, including MS Office applications. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently. A commitment to maintaining ethical conduct and adhering to compliance standards.
