BASIC PURPOSE:
Scheduler is responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing nursing staff scheduling for the Health Care Center and Cambridge Village. The Scheduler also performs clerical duties for the nursing department.
MAJOR WORK ACTIVITIES:
- Establish and maintain schedule templates for all nursing staff via online scheduling system.
- Establish and maintain the nursing staff schedule via online scheduling system utilizing and optimizing all components of the system.
- Post required regulatory staff posting in designated area(s).
- Monitor daily staffing levels, making replacements as needed for call-outs or other situations to ensure staffing is maintained at acceptable levels.
- Participate in shift change staff check-in process.
6. Collaborate with Supervisors/Directors for staffing needs.
7. Provide input to Supervisors/Directors related to attendance, attitude and flexibility for evaluating performance of nursing staff.
8. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Licensure/ Certification: CNA certification preferred but not required.
Experience: With at least 1 year of previous work experience as staffing coordinator or administrative assistant preferred. Must possess strong organizational and communication skills, computer skills to include typing and knowledge with nurse staffing issues.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
