Responsibilities of the Mechanical Quality Inspector:
- Develop and document best practice methods for inspection of parts, conduct inspections to mechanical drawings, create quality control plans, and document results.
- Coordinate and participate in the activities of the QA inspection team, specifically the mechanical inspection of machined components, weldments, heaters, and assemblies for the semiconductor and vacuum industry.
- Plan inspection activities and prepare documentation to support first article inspections.
- Collect and dispose of nonconforming materials.
- Audit internal processes and product manufacturing for conformance to requirements.
- Work closely with engineering and production, provide technical feedback on manufactured products and drawings, and generate Engineering Change Requests to correct drawing issues noted during inspection.
- Train others in inspection techniques, develop/ team members’ skill levels, and identify opportunities for improvement and work standardization.
Requirements of the Mechanical Quality Inspector:
- 6 years of mechanical inspection experience with a strong understanding of machined and welded components.
- Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings/GD&T and using a wide range of mechanical inspection tools and methods to perform open set-up surface plate inspections.
- Experience using CMM (Hexagon and Keyence preferred).
- Experience collecting, analyzing, and sharing data.
