Grain Elevator Location Manager Job Description:
The Grain Elevator Location Manager oversees employees to ensure a common goal of servicing customers, keeping them happy and retaining their business year-over-year, while maintaining grain in condition for delivery of high-quality products to the best available markets.
This role plays a critical part in The DeLong Co., Inc.'s larger container export program, which provides specialty products to customers with the highest standards.
Schedule:This is a full-time salaried position with typical days and hours from Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during peak work hours. From September until November, hours will be 7am - 7pm.

Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for ensuring all grain handling equipment is properly maintained and in good working condition, including rolling stock.
- Supervising, leading, and developing all elevator employees.
- Training employees to meet state and OSHA safety criteria.
- Managing the handling of all inbound and outbound grain.
- Scheduling and ensuring completion of all daily operations.
- Creating and maintaining a good housekeeping policy for the entire location.
- Resolving issues with customers when they arise.
- Approving all invoices as well as managing credit card spending.
- Ensuring employees have all necessary tools to perform their jobs safely and effectively.
- Scheduling federal grain inspections according to loading plans.
- Training employees annually on safely storing and applying fumigation.
- Training all contractors on-site with safety standards set by The Delong Company.
Attributes:
- Minimum 24 months as Superintendent or 5 years of experience in supervising grain elevator operations.
- Advanced knowledge in Electrical, Mechanical, Hydraulics, and Pneumatic systems.
- Ability to communicate within all levels of employees and upper management.
- Maintaining an active fumigation license in the state operated in.
- Highly organized individual.
- Proficient understanding of electronics, computers, computer networks, cameras, and communication devices.
- Ability to work with metal and metal fabrication tools.
- Advanced understanding of profit margins and maximizing profitability.
- Ability to load trucks and rail cars properly.
- Proficient in operating rolling stock.
- Valid driver's license and auto insurance.
- Comfortable working at heights up to 140 feet with fall protection.
- Able to lift 40 pounds repeatedly.
- Standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods.
