What are the responsibilities and job description for the National Coalitions Director position at The Democratic Party?
The DNC seeks a strategic and experienced Coalitions Director to lead outreach and engagement efforts with core Democratic and adjacent constituencies.
The Director will work to engage and expand the broad coalitions that make up the Democratic party. The Coalitions Director will work closely with the Coordinated Campaign Director and Political Director to ensure the DNC is reaching and expanding our coalitions while connecting them to a coordinated campaign to cultivate and support year-round organizing. The Coalitions Director will be responsible for implementing programs and initiatives to mobilize key voting blocs, strengthen relationships with national and community organizations and increase turnout for Democrats.
- Design and implement the formation and comprehensive table programs targeting core Democratic and adjacent constituencies
- Develop strategies to increase turnout among key voting blocs including Black, Hispanic, AANHPI, Native American, LGBTQ , Youth, Seniors, Ethnic, Rural, Veterans, Faith, Small Business and Women Voters
- Create and manage constituency engagement programs with constituency staff leads
- Coordinate with national partners, sister committees and state parties on initiatives
- Build and maintain relationships with in-state community leaders and organizations
- Oversee constituency outreach and engagement programs
- Develop culturally competent messaging and outreach strategies with the political, communications and OSI teams
- Manage, at a high-level, state-by-state constituency-specific collaboration by driving master organizing calendar and activities
- Participate in development of constituency-specific materials, media and resources
- Monitor program metrics and evaluate effectiveness
- Coordinate with Data, Digital, and Political teams on targeting and outreach
- 8 years of experience in political organizing or constituency outreach
- Proven track record mobilizing diverse communities
- Strong relationships with constituency groups and community leaders
- Experience managing large-scale outreach programs
- Excellence in coalition building and stakeholder management
- Deep understanding of core coalition and adjacent constituencies
- Experience leading a diverse team
- Experience working in a cross-constituency manner
- Electoral experience is a plus

The starting salary for the National Coalitions Director position is $130,000 on an annualized basis, commensurate with experience and qualifications. This is a full-time, exempt position, that may require work on weekends, and has an end date of November 13, 2026.
Travel: The National Coalitions Director position will require travel, which could be up to 50% of the time.
Due to federal campaign finance rules, only U.S. citizens or U.S. green card holders are eligible for this role. See 52 U.S.C. 30121; 11 C.F.R. 110.20(i). This means that they are doing campaign and finance work, they cannot be a foreign national/visa holder, only U.S. citizens and Green card holders.
