PRIMARY FUNCTION: Part-Time IT Technician
DEPARTMENT: IT
REPORTS TO: IT Director
SUMMARY:
The IT Technician works as a member of The Dewberry’s IT team to provide technical support to the hotel staff and to the company's corporate offices. This role will focus on assisting staff with questions, requests for assistant or repairs, and support for all IT equipment. Additionally, the IT Technician will compile and record documentation and instructions for Dewberry computing systems.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Major areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:
- Field all IT service tickets and emails.
- Provide customer service for all IT-related issues for Dewberry staff.
- Escalate issues as necessary to administrator or director.
- Respond to user tickets in the triage and technical support roles.
- Discover and resolve issues in the testing, maintenance, modification, installation, and use of operating system software.
- Use the ticketing system and property control software to plan and document daily activities and to maintain accurate, up-to-date inventory, location, configuration, warranty, repair, and service records.
- Conduct interviews with staff, compile interview data, and develop recommendations and/or repairs to desktop computing equipment.
- Recommend computer upgrades and provide solutions to user needs.
- Ensure that data processing equipment, printers, and networking equipment are functioning properly.
- Maintain inventory of supplies.
- Perform additional IT-related duties or projects as required.
- Provide training as necessary for other IT support team members or Dewberry teammates.
- Maintain up-to-date job knowledge through Webinars, online resources, and conferences in order to provide the highest possible quality of current and future technical support to The Dewberry’s staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, OR high school diploma (or equivalent) and four years’ experience in computer system analysis, design, testing, debugging, and maintenance techniques.
- Strong Windows operating systems technical skills required.
- Excellent customer service skills and a strong commitment to providing the highest possible level of customer service.
- Understanding and appreciation of the needs of users in a hospitality environment.
- Tact and sensitivity in dealing with a diverse community.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and respond to issues promptly.
- CompTIA certifications preferred.
