About The Dimock Center
With the goal of breaking down barriers to care, The Dimock Center is meeting the complex health and wellness needs of all members of our community, right where they live. We provide over 19,000 people annually with care for the whole person through high-quality, low-cost health care and human services.
This internship offers a unique opportunity for hands-on experience in a collaborative work environment. The selected candidate will work closely with the Communications Associate and other members of the Development and Communications team, gaining a broad range of skills throughout their internship experience. The Communications Intern will gain experience with marketing, event planning, social media management, and more.
Job Responsibilities: The Communications Intern will be actively involved in supporting the operations of the Development & Communications Department through various communication and marketing initiatives, including:

- Our Health Center offers a range of primary and specialty health care for adults and children, with specialized clinics for Eye Care, Dental, Pediatrics, OB/GYN, and care for those living with HIV/AIDs.

The Communications Intern will gain experience with marketing, event planning, social media management, and more.
Job Responsibilities: The Communications Intern will be actively involved in supporting the operations of the Development & Communications Department through various communication and marketing initiatives, including:
- Assisting in the creation of social media, email, print, and web content
- Taking photos and writing content to support fundraising and event communications
- Monitoring and responding to comments, messages, and inquiries on social media and email
- Assisting in the planning and coordination of tasks related to the Road to Wellness 5K Run/2-Mile Walk and Summer Training Series
- Supporting the recognition of Road to Wellness sponsors through social media and email marketing, remarks, event signage, and other race day collateral
- Providing general administrative support, such as data entry, scheduling meetings, organizing documents, filing paperwork, calendar and database management, taking meeting notes, etc.
- Availability to work 10 hours per week on-site
- While relevant previous internship or work experience is valued, it is not a mandatory requirement
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is essential
- Proficiency in or willingness to learn Canva, MailChimp, WordPress, and other digital tools
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are a key asset
- Capable of conducting efficient and strong research
- The candidate should demonstrate self-motivation, excellent organizational abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
