We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Dog Daycare Attendant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing a safe, fun, and engaging environment for dogs in our daycare facility. You will interact with various breeds and temperaments, ensuring their well-being while they play and socialize. This position is ideal for individuals who love animals and have experience in pet care.
Duties
- Supervise and engage with dogs during playtime, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Maintain a clean and organized daycare environment by regularly cleaning play areas, kennels, and equipment.
- Feed and provide fresh water to dogs as per their dietary needs.
- Monitor the behavior of dogs to identify any signs of distress or aggression and take appropriate action.
- Administer basic first aid if necessary and report any health concerns to management.
- Assist with grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, and nail trimming as needed.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their dog's behavior and activities throughout the day.
- Participate in training sessions for dogs when required.
Skills
- Strong animal handling skills with experience in dog handling and care.
- Knowledge of pet care practices including feeding, grooming, and health monitoring.
- Experience as a veterinary technician or familiarity with veterinary practices is a plus.
- Ability to perform animal restraint safely when necessary.
- Experience in pet sitting or dog training is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with both dogs and their owners effectively.
- A genuine love for animals along with patience and empathy towards them.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
