What are the responsibilities and job description for the Personal Injury Law Clerk position at The Dominguez Firm, LLP.?
Primary duties/responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Communicate with client, defense, and in-house staff
- Complete Minor Compromise petition MC-350 along with corresponding files
- Calendar hearing(s) and arrange for coverage
- Open blocked bank account
- Coordinate bank visit with the client, if necessary
- Provide support to the staff and Attorney with minor’s compromise’s as needed
- Maintain up to date notes as required and/or as needed in system (Litify)
- Maintain communication with team members as needed within the PI department pertaining to Minor’s Compromise’s
- Perform other duties as assigned by Management and/or Team Leaders.
Competencies/Skills:
- Ability to work alone or as part of a team;
- Ability to pay very close attention to detail;
- Possess strong organizational, analytical, and clerical skills
- Basic Knowledge of Personal Injury laws and procedures; and
- Computer skills such as MS Office and Case management software’s.
- This position requires physical activity including but not limited to bending, stooping, repetitive motion, and lifting of up to 20 pounds. This position may also require sitting for prolonged periods of time.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 – 2 years’ experience working in a law firm or similar environment;
- Minimum 1 years’ experience working with Minor’s Compromise
- Minimum high school diploma; and
- Bilingual, fluent in English/Spanish required.
