Role: Manager of Enterprise Applications

Job Description-
Our client is looking for an experienced manager of M365 and Power platforms reporting to the AVP, Cloud and systems Services. The role would be responsible for overseeing the deployment, maintenance, development, support, and promotion of Microsoft 365 (M365) and Power Platform tools, including Power Automate, Power Apps, and Power BI. The manager will oversee a small team of engineers while being technically hands on.
The ideal candidate for this role would have strong technical skills, 6 years of experience with M365 and Power Platform tools, as well as excellent communication and project management abilities.
The role would also need to be proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work well in a fluid team environment.
This role would involve:
- Deployment and Maintenance: Ensuring that M365 and Power Platform tools are properly deployed and maintained. This includes managing updates, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the tools are running smoothly.
- Development and Support: Developing unique applications on request and providing support for citizen development within the platform. Assisting with business automation initiatives using Power Automate.
- Promotion and Training: Promoting the use of M365 and Power Platform tools within the organization and providing training and guidance to users. This could involve creating documentation, conducting workshops, and offering one-on-one support.
- Collaboration and Consultation: Working closely with other departments to understand their needs and provide solutions using M365 and Power Platform tools. Offering consultation and guidance on best practices for using these tools. Providing cross training within the team for balanced workloads and career growth paths.
- Automating Business Processes with Power Automate: creating workflows to automate repetitive tasks and improve efficiency.
- Implementing a Power Platform Center of Excellence (CoE): Developing and running a CoE to monitor and manage the Power Platform environment. The CoE should include dashboards and reports using Power BI to track usage, audit access, and provide visibility into the apps, flows, and makers within the organization
- Enhancing Data Security and Compliance: Responsible for ensuring the security and compliance of M365 environment and Power Platform solutions. Including setting up governance processes, monitoring platform activity, and ensuring that only authorized users have access to build and share apps and flows
- Driving Adoption and Training: Responsible for promoting the use of M365 and Power Platform tools within the organization. Including conducting training sessions, creating documentation, and offering one-on-one support to help users understand and utilize these tools effectively
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology or closely related field or 10 plus years of experience and progressive career growth in IT related field
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive for Business, and the broader M365 platform. Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for automation and management tasks is also crucial
- Familiar with software architecture principles, database design and data structures, software development lifecycles, common standards, project methodologies, and best practices.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with senior architects, project teams, and other IT professionals. The ability to work effectively with all organizational levels and vendor management/interaction is essential
- Strong leadership skills to manage a team of IT professionals. The ability to provide guidance, support, and training to team members is crucial
- Understanding of security and compliance practices related to M365 services. This includes monitoring platform usage, auditing access, and ensuring compliance with security policies
- Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and changing business requirements. This includes staying updated with the latest developments in M365 services and implementing new features and functionalities as needed
