What are the responsibilities and job description for the Steward/Dishwasher position at The Draycott?
Duties & Responsibilities:
Effectively loads and operates the dishwashing machines. Hand washes pots, pans and other items in accordance with the standards of sanitation and cleanliness.
Thoroughly cleans dish machine by emptying tanks and filling tanks. Ensures that curtains are set up. Empties grease traps and barrels. Checks rinse agent and detergent and fills as necessary. Promptly notifies Supervisor of any irregularities with the machine.
Thoroughly cleans and empties disposal drains regularly.
Keeps dish cleaning area and floor clean and free from debris.
Empties all trash in kitchen area and employee cafeteria.
Correctly separates recyclable items into proper cardboard and bottles/plastic containers.
Maintains bus stations in assigned areas. Ensures that areas have soiled silverware containers, bus buckets and empty garbage cans.
Correctly places soiled dishes on racks in dish cleaning machine. Separates silverware for cleaning. Always washes silverware twice.
Always stacks clean dishes in proper storage area.
Ensures that pot sink area is clean and free from debris. Makes sure that pots are kept inverted and put in proper specific storage area. Complies with all applicable health standards.
Uses chemicals in proper areas and in correct concentrations.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must possess a High School Diploma/GED.
Must possess reading ability; schedules, MSDS, complete forms, etc.
Ability to be safety oriented.
Must be able to operate a dishwashing machine and floor machines.
Must be able to lift up to 35lbs.
Must be able to speak and understand English; interact with guests and co-workers.
Must possess written communication skills; standard forms, etc.
Must be able to work in extreme temperatures; 0 to 110 degrees.
Must be able to work under extreme noise.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
Ability to accommodate a flexible work schedule to include nights, holidays and weekends.
