What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities Maintenance Tech position at The dReam Center Church of Atlanta?
The Facilities Maintenance Technician of The dReam Center Church of Atlanta (TdRC) serves the church by coordinating building schedules and ensuring that maintenance issues and grounds upkeep are executed. This position reports to the Chief Operations Officer.
Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
- Keeping the church in proper order (in appearance, cleanliness, and maintenance).
- Opening and closing the facility before and after times of worship, rehearsals, meetings and office hours by following the opening/closing process.
- Perform routine maintenance around the building such as repairing and/or reporting structural damage such as window, door or wall repairs, painting, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, grounds, light fixtures, torn carpet, etc.
- Refilling dispensers such as hand sanitizer receptacles, soap, paper towels and bathroom tissue, vacuuming sanctuary between services and emptying trash when needed.
- Facilitating work orders for repairs, inspections, installations and ordering supplies.
- Under direct supervision, performs a variety of semiskilled and skilled building trades work in the repair, maintenance or construction of TdRC and related structures.
- Troubleshoot and maintains security, climate control and other facilities systems.
- Supervises, guides, and/or instructs the work assignments of volunteers.
- Monitors or escort contractors and contracted maintenance employees working on company property and equipment ensuring they work safely and efficiently.
- Reviews plans and conducts on-site inspections to ensure work is performed according to established guidelines.
- Works with the available resources and monitors projects, purchases, preventative maintenance, and work orders.
- Responsible for organizing, maintaining an efficient parts and supply inventory and all maintenance/storage areas.
- Responsible for addressing facility breakdowns that can occur after work hours, weekends, and holidays.
- Perform such other duties as may be required from time to time.
Pre-Service and Post Service
- Perform building opening and closing protocols.
- Perform inspections according to the Facilities Checklist.
- Troubleshoot climate control issues with HVAC systems when applicable.
- Trash pick-up on the outside and inside on the building between cleaning days.
During Service
- Maintenance requests as needed for safety hazard reasons.
- Minimum damage control for full repair of plumbing to include toilet leaks, pipe bursts, floods, etc.
- Minimum damage control of severed wires, electrical shortages, etc.
Other
- Coordinate and receive deliveries with vendors.
- Facilities related pick-ups.
- Stage related placements and designs.
- Set up and breakdown for multi-purpose rooms and common areas.
- Ensure that rooms are properly equipped and stocked.
- Handle emergency cleaning if needed.
- Assist with training Facilities volunteers.
Qualifications:
- High school or equivalent (Required)
- Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience (Required)
- Valid Driver's License (Required)
- Technical certifications are a plus.
- Able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and task management software (e.g. Asana).
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to collaborate across teams to ensure adequate ministry support.
- Good work habits and ability to manage time well.
- Maintains and promotes a safe working environment.
