Purpose of Job:
The Youth Leader is responsible for leading the Rock Nation Youth partners of The dReam Center Church of Atlanta, which encompasses the ages of (0-18). The Youth Leader is expected to foster Christian worship experiences, events, and a safe Christian environment that nurtures the maturation of our younger partner base. The Youth Leader will work closely with the Lead Pastor and the Family Ministries Director to establish a cutting edge Rock Nation Youth Ministry. This position requires a high level of passion, energy, creativity, and proven effectiveness. The Youth Leader also has a complimentary scope of administrative duties related to ensuring the success of each Rock Nation service and event.
The Youth Leader is responsible for leading the following key volunteer teams:
Rock Nation Nursery
Rock Nation Children
Rock Nation Teens
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Partners closely with the Lead Pastor, Family Ministries Director and Young Adult Leader to create an engaging and exciting weekly worship experience for the Rock Nation partners.
- Provides oversight to ensure relationship, discipleship, fellowship and leadership of all Youth teams.
- Regularly reviews and refreshes the worship experience for cultural relevance.
- Ensures there is always an environment that encourages spiritual growth.
- Care for, spend time with and disciple youth.
- Plan and direct youth fellowships, retreats, and mission trips, etc.
- Communicate effectively with parents about the ministry.
- Actively make an effort to ensure the growth and health of the ministry.
- Develop a creative Biblical teaching ministry to include spending priority hours in lesson preparation each week.
- Responsible for the overall activities of Rock Nation.
- Create an atmosphere for acceptance and fellowship.
- Develop relationships with kids each week as well as activities that encourage fellowship with each other.
- Responsible for recruiting, training, and maintaining an adequate staff of youth volunteer leaders who will minister to and disciple students during worship experiences and events..
- Responsible for the preparation and oversight of the Rock Nation Budget.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Theology or related field is strongly preferred, or applicable ministry experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in youth leadership in a church.
- Minimum two years related experience; nonprofit experience a plus.
- Advance knowledge of Planning Center is a plus.
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 required.
- Strong organizational and planning skills required.
- Experience leading and working with multiple teams of adult volunteers.
- Experience working in a church of 1,500 or more in weekly attendance is preferred.
- Positive attitude with excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to recruit, develop and place partners in meaningful roles in the youth ministry.

Proven time-management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize in order to meet deadlines. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Hours:
- This position may require evening, weekend and holiday work to accommodate youth events and church activities.
Travel:
- Occasional travel may be required for retreats, mission trips, and conferences.
