SUMMARY: Coordinates activities involved with procuring goods and services such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, supplies, rentals, and advertising, for organization by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reviews requisitions. Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
Selects products for purchase by testing, observing, or examining items with support from the Purchasing Manager. Estimates values according to knowledge of market price.
Determines method of procurement such as direct purchase or bid.
Prepares purchase orders or bid requests.
Maintains procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field and minimum of five years of experience; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Accounts Payable Understanding: general understanding of the AP world and how Purchasing affects it.
- Language Ability: ability to effectively communicate and respond to questions from manager, clients, customers, and internal team.
- Reasoning Ability: ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Computer Skills: to perform this job successfully, an individual should have advanced technical knowledge of and experience with internet research, and advanced abilities in Microsoft Office software including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Vista Viewpoint experience preferred, but not required.
- Physical Presence: Regular and predictable physical presence in the purchasing office is an essential qualification for this position due to the importance of the team-related aspects of the essential duties, the aggressive timeframes under which the employee will operate, and the need for face-to-face interaction with employees in Purchasing in order to properly perform job-related functions.
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to travel as needed.
