The Accountant/Payroll Specialist is a full-time, salary, exempt position. This is a remote position and requires the remote condition to adhere to HIPAA standards. This position will be responsible for all payroll functions as well as accounting functions as described in the job responsibilities.

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or business management or equivalent combination of education and experience.
&
2 plus years of multi-state payroll experience
Computer Skills
Have knowledge of basic computer skills and knowledge of programs such as Excel, Microsoft Word, and Google programs as well as knowledge of EMR systems. Must be able to move from program to program without problems.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from patients, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to patients, public groups, and/or physicians.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

SUMMARY
The Accountant/Payroll Specialist is a full-time, salary, exempt position. This is a remote position and requires the remote condition to adhere to HIPAA standards. This position will be responsible for all payroll functions as well as accounting functions as described in the job responsibilities.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations of the payroll function to include bi-weekly payroll and off-cycle payroll needs.
- Assist in payroll, time & attendance and scheduling policies and procedures to maximize efficiency and reduce error.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and proper payroll recordkeeping.
- Record payroll in the accounting system (NetSuite)
- Accrue payroll in the accounting system at the month end including bonuses and true ups.
- Pull needed reports from the EMR system for payroll.
- Provider bonuses
- Provider “true ups”
- Maintains accurate incentive management for proper distribution and payouts.
- Accrue, reconcile, and pay administration.
- Review/reconcile benefit invoices for accuracy/adjustments monthly.
- Reconcile the benefit general ledger accounts monthly.
- Serves as a point of contact for team members payroll questions and for all payroll-related audits (including but not limited to payroll tax, financial audit, worker’s compensation, and 401k audit)
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state payroll regulations, wage assignments (garnishments, child support, etc.) and maintain current knowledge of applicable state and federal wage and hour laws.
- Coordinate the resolution of inquiries by federal, state and local tax authorities and labor agencies.
- Responsible for accurate and timely payroll tax filings ensuring that all federal and state regulations are met, and all applicable tax rates are maintained in the payroll system.
- Stays up to date and implements labor and tax laws as it pertains to the state(s) we conduct business and/or have team members working.
- Other payroll related tasks as requested.
- Accounting cycle tasks as requested.
