What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lower School Teacher position at The Edison School?
Lower school classrooms have a maximum capacity of 8 students.
Do you have a passion for positively impacting the lives of children? Do you want to teach the way students learn best?
We are looking for leaders, not followers.
The Edison School gives teachers the freedom to use the best curriculum for each student and to teach materials the way they see fit. Administration provides each teacher with the resources they need to provide the best education for each student, but does not require teachers to follow a script or dictate how to run their classroom. We know teachers are the experts in how to teach their students.
At The Edison School we believe all students have the potential to learn. For us, education is as unique as our learners. We meet our students where they are by providing an intimate and encouraging academic community that honors them as individuals, values each student's diverse learning style, and fosters growth.
Edison is seeking an innovative, energetic and creative educator to join our school staff for the 2025-2026 school year. The ideal candidate will possess the belief that all students are capable of learning and a passion for helping students become their best. Edison's teachers think outside of the box when it comes to teaching students. We believe anything (games, Legos, Minecraft, etc.) can be used to teach a child. Edison's teachers are also problem solvers who understand a student's behavior is a form of communication. Candidates should submit an application, curriculum vita, and references to Dr. Wilson or Miss Carlson.
Edison may pay up to $200/month for an employee's health insurance.
