What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facility Janitor position at The Elsie Academy?
The Elsie Academy Facility Janitor will ensure a clean and sanitize environment. Under the direction of the Vice President of Operations to ensure the delivery of high -quality early childhood care and education for children ages 12 Months -5 years. The Facility Janitor will be responsible for cleaning, sanitizing, maintaining floorcare, inventory control, trash removal and trash pickup on the school grounds.
Part-Time Position 20-25 Hours Per Week - Hours 2pm -7pm
Perform cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, trash removal, wall washing, window washing, classroom cleaning, high dusting, detail cleaning and restroom cleaning.
Sanitize Kitchen and Deep Clean as needed, may occasionally help with washing dishes.
Sanitize all areas of building ensure that all children have a safe and sanitized environment.
Some grounds keeping work to include, parking lot clean up, debris in grass, side of building and back of building and all play areas.
Complete inventory for all paper, chemicals, and other supplies on a weekly basis.
Document any repairs and submit workorders daily, weekly, monthly.
Maintain Safety Data Sheets and Hazardous Chemicals

Qualifications and Education Requirements
High School Diploma
Comprehensive knowledge of national and state education standards to include licensing requirements and procedures and fire, health, and OSHA regulations
At least two years of cleaning experience in a childcare environment.
CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain
Must be physically able to use a computer with basic proficiency, lift a minimum of 40 pounds, and work indoors or outdoors. Must be able to assume postures in low levels to allow physical and visual contact with children, see and hear well enough to keep children safe, and engage in physical activity.
Ability to speak, read, and write English.
