Responsibilities:
Building and Installing
- Construct and install structures and fixtures, including walls, floors, doors, cabinets, and windows.
- Install fittings such as handles, locks, and hinges with precision and care.
Measuring, Cutting, and Shaping
- Utilize hand and power tools to measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, and other materials accurately.
Reading Blueprints
- Interpret blueprints, building plans, and designs to meet project specifications and client expectations.
Ensuring Safety
- Adhere to safety regulations, building codes, and zoning laws to ensure a secure and compliant workspace.
- Read and follow safety warnings and guidelines to protect yourself and others.
Communicating
- Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide updates on project progress.
- Work closely with suppliers and other tradespeople, fostering a cooperative and professional environment.
- Train and direct laborers and construction helpers as needed.
Troubleshooting
- Identify and resolve construction issues promptly in coordination with the project team.
Maintaining a Clean Work Environment
- Ensure the worksite is clean and organized throughout the day.
- Return tools and materials to their proper place at the end of each shift.
Must Haves/Requirements:
- Experience: 5-7 years of proven carpentry experience in residential, commercial, or custom projects.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in using hand and power tools, reading blueprints, and interpreting building plans.
- Customer Service: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and build client trust.
