Education:
- Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology
- Graduate of an approved program of Mammography Technology
Licenses/Certifications:
- Certified in Basic or Advanced Life Support (BLS/ALS)
- Current license or temporary license issued by the Texas Medical Board (MRT), required
- Registered Radiologic Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-R)
- Registered Mammography Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-M)
Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
- Ability to lift and maneuver patients in collaboration with team members to perform job duties effectively.

Principal Accountabilities

Performing Mammography Exams:
- Conducts mammographic radiographic exams, ensuring compliance with all radiation safety standards.
- Prepares patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process and positioning them appropriately for optimal imaging.
- Administers contrast materials when necessary and selects appropriate imaging techniques to achieve high-quality results.

Data and Equipment Management:
- Accurately enters and monitors patient data in the system.
- Performs quality assurance and routine maintenance on mammography equipment.
- Assists with initial and renewal applications for ACR accreditation or other required certifications.

Incident Reporting and Emergency Call:
- Identifies and promptly reports incidents, complaints, or equipment malfunctions to department management.
- Takes emergency call duties within the department as needed.

Safe Care Delivery:
- Ensures the safety of patients, staff, and visitors by adhering to all organizational policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Effectively manages time, resources, and supplies to meet departmental goals and maintain productivity.

Professional Growth and Leadership:
- Actively participates in mandatory and continuing education to maintain skills competency and professional growth.
- Supports department objectives and serves as a preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff members.
