Position Overview:
We seek an experienced and results-driven Operations Supervisor to oversee and manage plant operations, ensuring production processes run efficiently and safely while meeting production goals. This position is instrumental in planning, organizing, and supervising the hourly workforce to optimize production outcomes. The Operations Supervisor will collaborate closely with the Plant Manager and other departments to ensure smooth operations, identify and resolve process bottlenecks, and maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership:
- Supervise and manage the efficient operation of plant processes within established parameters.
- Lead, direct, and organize the hourly workforce under the guidance of the Plant Manager.
- Assume ownership of production processes, including Dryer and Screening, Packaging, Wet Process, and Mining.

Production Planning & Optimization:
- Plan and schedule production activities to meet production goals and customer demands.
- Identify process bottlenecks, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with maintenance personnel to perform preventive maintenance and ensure equipment operates as designed.

Safety & Compliance:
- Ensure plant compliance with MSHA regulations, operating permits, and company policies.
- Oversee site training and documentation for employees, visitors, and contractors to minimize exposure to operational hazards.
- Conduct daily pre-shift and post-shift inspections of production equipment, following up on any issues as necessary.

Process Support & Reporting:
- Analyze and monitor production performance metrics, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Support daily order processing, ensuring orders are uploaded in JDE systems accurately.
- Provide indirect support to customers and carriers, ensuring product quality and timely COAs through QAD software.

Team Collaboration & Communication:
- Act as a liaison between operations and maintenance teams to address issues and optimize processes.
- Involve operators and maintenance personnel in process improvements and problem-solving.
- Ensure shipped products meet customer quality standards and are free from contamination during transit.

Other Duties:
- Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Plant Manager to support the overall plant operation.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; additional technical certifications are a plus.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3–5 years in an industrial environment with a strong mechanical background.
- Expertise in mineral processing, slurry pumping, screening, and rotating equipment.
- Proficiency in production planning and troubleshooting.
- Technical Skills:
- Competency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
- Familiarity with JDE and QAD software systems preferred.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to anticipate problems and implement preventative measures.
- Excellent judgment in troubleshooting and resolving process issues.
- Other Requirements:
- Willingness to be on-call as needed.
